Wednesday, July 10, 2013

Foresters Friendly Society, the member-owned mutual society which offers a range of financial products, has donated a total of £59,139.46 to Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan was the chosen charity for The Foresters Friendly Society President's 2012/2013 Charity Appeal which saw members of the Society raise money through a series of fundraising events.

Foresters members raised money to help fund nurses and specialist healthcare professionals as well as build cancer care centres. Macmillan's specially trained nurses provide support and advice to cancer sufferers while the Charity gives benefits advice and grants to those who need financial support to cope with the extra costs cancer can bring.*

Sally Waterfield, Marketing Manager, Foresters Friendly Society, said:"Our members have once again raised a phenomenal amount of money over the year to support our chosen charity. Macmillan provides vital support, both emotional and financial, to help all those affected by cancer through an exceptionally difficult time."
