Sickness Policy - Important Information
At Foresters Friendly Society, we explain to you exactly WHAT a product is, precisely WHY the product may suit your requirements and in simple to understand language, HOW you can apply.
It is also important for you to be aware of the following factors:
- You must be aged between 20 and 59 and be a UK resident at the start of the policy. The policy terminates at age 65.
- Particular exclusions do apply to this policy and may affect your ability to claim. Full details of these exclusions can be found in the policy conditions.
- The policy only covers sickness and injury - not redundancy or if you cease trading, etc.
- Please bear in mind that your policy must be in place for at least 1 month before any benefits can be paid.
- Once the maximum number of weeks have been claimed for in any one rolling twelve month period, no additional benefits will be payable until you have returned to work for at least eight weeks.
- A certified doctor's note or other reasonable evidence is required as proof of sickness/injury.
- The policy has no surrender value at any time.
- Premiums are subject to review after 5 years and any time thereafter.
- If you stop paying your premiums you will no longer be covered by the policy.
- Any benefit we pay you under this policy may affect your claim to some means-tested State benefits or other insurance products.
- If you do not answer all the questions on the application form accurately and honestly your claim may be declined.
