Foresters Friendly Society raises over £55,000 for The Rivers Trust

Foresters Friendly Society, the member-owned mutual society, has raised an incredible £55,543 for The Rivers Trust, which was chosen as the Society’s Annual Charity Appeal for 2024/2025.

Throughout the year, both Foresters members and staff arranged a series of fundraising activities to raise money and awareness for The Rivers Trust, a charity dedicated to preserving and restoring rivers across the UK and Ireland. Some of the key activities that took place throughout the year included:

Over £6,300 raised by a Society member who completed a skydive, jumping from 15,000 feet
Over £2,000 was raised by a member of staff who completed the Isle of Wight 106km Ultra Marathon
A terrific Foresters trio completed a charity row-a-thon that covered the equivalent length of the River Thames (215 miles). Over £1,200 was raised by the trio.

The Rivers Trust works tirelessly to monitor, restore, and protect our waterways. Their data-driven conservation helps fight back against pollution and supports nature’s recovery.

Jo Andrew, the Society’s President for 2024/2025 commented, “I’m in awe of the support our members have shown for our charity appeal, from skydives and row-a-thons to bake sales, quiz nights, ultra marathons, and so much more.
