Foresters Charity Appeal Monthly Roundup – March 2026
Welcome to the latest edition of our Foresters charity appeal roundup! In this series, we provide updates on 2025/2026 appeal and celebrate the amazing fundraising efforts of our members as they unite to support Alzheimer’s Society – the UK’s leading dementia charity.
A message from High Chief Ranger, Gail Lancaster:
Northern Conference
The highlight of March was undoubtedly the Northern Conference, an event which brings members together. The conference was well attended, and it was a thought-provoking weekend. Members were joined by the Foresters CEO, Finance Director, Board members, and the Membership Committee, all of whom delivered insightful presentations on what members want for the future.
We also heard presentations from the Membership Committee project groups who shared updates on how to access new member benefits from Foresters Plus, our member benefits package.
One of the most valuable parts of the weekend was the workshops where delegates shared their thoughts and ideas for the future of Foresters.
I’d like to say a big thank you to all that attended. During the Saturday night dinner, the raffle raised an amazing £475 for Alzheimer’s Society. Thanks again to everyone who took part and I hope you enjoyed your prizes.
I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to Peter Burrows, an Alzheimer’s volunteer, for sharing his experience at the Northern Conference of what it means to support a loved one living with dementia.
Quiz Night Success
On the 20th of March, we hosted a second quiz night – this time with even more teams than the previous back in October. A huge thank you goes to Paul King, who once again volunteered as Quiz Master. His time and enthusiasm made the evening even more enjoyable and was greatly appreciated.
Thank You
Thank you to everyone that has taken part or is planning to take part in fundraising activities for Alzheimer’s Society, who are genuinely delighted by the support of our members.
Looking Ahead: Charity Gala Dinner – 25th April
I can’t wait to see many of you at my Gala Dinner on the 25th April. It’s going to be a wonderful evening, and I’m looking forward to catching up with you all in person.
Much love and thank you again for making March a great month for our charity appeal.

- Pledge your miles – email us at [email protected] so we can add your contribution to our running total
- Get moving – you can walk, run, swim, cycle, dance, or row the distance
- Complete your distance by Monday 22nd June – and ask friends and family to sponsor your efforts along the way
Support Available
I’ve been inspired by members who have shared their personal stories with me. If you or loved one is worried about dementia, help is available. I encourage you to contact the Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Support Line on 0333 150 3456 if you need support.
