Little spenders: and the winner is…

We had some fantastic entries to our Little Spenders kids’ competition, and we had a tough time choosing a winner…
In our kids’ competition, we asked how your little ones would spend £5,000 and to submit a drawing of the idea. The answers we got ranged from the luxurious to the charitable, to the downright fantastical!
We’d like to say a huge Thank You to everyone who entered. We thoroughly enjoyed looking at all the entries and want to share some of our shortlisted favourites with you, as well as the winning entry.
And the winner is ….
Our winner is six-year-old Tillie who wants to build a treetop castle where she can have adventures with her little brother. What we loved most about Tillie’s entry was that, not only is it a beautiful drawing, she’s also not afraid to dream big when it comes to her money. Well done, Tillie.
We also decided to award a well deserved Second Place to …
Jacob's passion for drawing and photography means that he wants a drone. Not only was it a really unique answer, we thought Jacob’s drawing was fantastic. Well done!
And in no particular order our runners up …
Though only 10, young Findlay is dreaming big, aiming to be an Olympic sailing champion! We hope to see you at the 2024 games, Findlay!
We’re not sure you can put a price on the love of a great pet, but Leighton certainly comes close, with his dream of owning his very own T-Rex to keep in the garden.
Charlie would use the money to visit an aquarium to see his favourite sea creatures. You may even be able to get a lifetime membership for £5,000, Charlie, so you can return as often as you want.
We loved the generosity and community spirit of Oscar’s entry. He said he would use the money to buy equipment for his cricket club, Norton Oakes in Sheffield, where he plays for the under-9s team.
Libby would love to fly, and so chose to spend her money on a hot air balloon ride. We loved her colourful drawing that showed the balloon, a holiday in the snow and lots more!
Chocolate was a favourite idea, but what we really liked about Frankie’s entry is that he chose to share his new-found fortune with his family and friends! We like the look of that candy, Frankie.
