Member benefits key to Foresters success

- Nearly 40% of respondents have been Foresters' members for over 20 years
- Half of members prefer to safeguard their capital with low risk investments
In a recent survey of its members, Foresters Friendly Society found that its member benefits such as optical and dental grants are a major key to its success. According to the survey which was carried out in April, over 50% of respondents rated these benefits as important to them. These extra benefits are available to members who take out a policy with Foresters and include discounts and savings on high street brands, free legal advice and a discounted Will writing service.
Over a third (35%) of members said they accessed the benefits once a year or more. When asked about other possible benefits they would like to see added, members chose access to exclusive high street discounts (40%), free home emergency cover (33%) and free breakdown cover (32%) as the top three of their wish list.
Protecting their capital was another area of agreement amongst Foresters members with 53% saying they did not want to take any risk with their money; less than 10% of respondents were willing to take significant risk by putting large amounts of their money into equities.

Foresters is able to offer much more to its policyholders by way of its extra benefits package which is provided at no extra charge when a person takes out a financial policy with us."
The survey was carried out by Foresters Friendly Society between 30 March and 16 April 2012
