Let’s Talk: How Foresters Care Can Help You

On 6th February 2025, the UK celebrates Time to Talk Day. This day is all about starting conversations about mental health. Talking about feelings isn’t always easy, but it can make a big difference. At Foresters Friendly Society, we care about you and your mental health. That’s why we offer Foresters Care for all our members.

Whilst talking about feelings matters, talking about how we feel can be hard. But when we do, it helps us:

  • Feel less alone.
  • Share our feelings and understand them better.
  • Get the help we need to feel better.

Time to Talk Day is a chance for everyone to start talking and to help others feel heard.

What is Foresters Care?

At Foresters Friendly Society, we want to help you feel your best. The Foresters Care Service provided by RedArc gives members free telephone support for any long-term physical or mental health condition from a friendly Personal Nurse Adviser. They can:

  • Help with Mental Health: If you feel worried or sad, the nurse can listen and give advice. RedArc have specialist mental health nurses that can provide long-term support, therapy and counselling.
  • Bereavement Support: Losing someone you love can be devastating, but you don’t have to go through it alone. A RedArc nurse can help you through it, even if you just need someone to talk to.
  • Help with a Serious Illness: If you have a long-term illness, your RedArc nurse can help you feel more comfortable and provide advice to help you manage it better. They can also help you make the most of services offered by the NHS, specialist charities and social services.
  • Support for Carers: Looking after someone who is elderly or suffering from illness can be very difficult and can have an impact on your own wellbeing. A RedArc nurse can provide emotional and practical support to cope with caring responsibilities if you need it.

This service is private; RedArc don’t record calls, so anything you say is kept confidential. It’s all about helping you feel better and more in control.
