We’ve been helping
members since 1834

Foresters is like one big family! We were established back in 1834 to improve people’s lives and that’s exactly what we do. In 2025, we provided a combined total of over £1.4 million through discretionary grants to members and charitable donations. Here’s some of the reasons why you should join our Friendly Society by purchasing a Foresters Plus membership…

Reasons to be a Foresters Plus member

Shopping & Lifestyle Discounts

Members have access to new Foresters Plus Shopping and Lifestyle Discounts! Whether it’s your weekly grocery shop, reducing your utility bills or a weekend take-away delivered to your door, there’s discounts that could save you money.

Financial Aid

In 2025, we provided a combined total of over £1.4 million in discretionary grants to members and charitable donations. We offer a range of worthwhile member benefits, at no additional cost! From providing financial support to members in times of need, to providing support through Foresters Care…

Social Events

Thanks to regular social and community events, our members keep a busy diary. Coffee mornings, theatre trips, dinner dances, fundraising events… You can get involved with them all through our social branches.

Local Social Branches

We’re all about friendship and thanks to regular social and community events arranged by our local branches, our members keep a busy diary. Check out our online branch finder to find where your local branch meets.

Free Member Magazine

Members have free access to our quarterly member magazine called ‘Miscellany’. Each edition showcases what members have been up to across the UK, including social events, fundraising activities, and more.

Foresters Care

For our Foresters Care service, we’ve partnered with RedArc, whose registered nurses provide tailored help to our members by telephone. What’s more, you’ll only speak to the same nurse throughout, providing important continuity. Foresters Care has supported thousands of people through serious and long-term physical and mental illnesses, trauma, eldercare and bereavement.

Life Skills

Our social branches are how our members engage with each other locally. They help to ensure that members have the opportunity to become active in the Society and are a source of support and friendship. There’s plenty of roles to get involved in if you’re interested in helping out.

Support Charities

Each year the Society’s President nominates a charity of their choice for the Annual Charity Appeal, and this provides a national focus for our fundraising efforts and complements the many local charities that our branches support. For 2026/2027, we’re supporting Shelter!

Support for Communities

We’re proud sponsors of Foresters Brass, a band which can trace its roots back to 1902! Foresters Brass, based in Leicester, have brought joy to many across the UK and overseas. Achieving notable success over the years, they have performed at many prestigious venues, including the Royal Albert Hall!

Have Your Say

Everything we do is for the benefit of our members. What’s more, our members also get a say in how we are run by attending our Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Member Stories

Don’t just take our word for it. Why not listen to our members tell their own stories – and hear what Foresters Friendly Society has done for them?
