Families shoot for gold

Archery GB, sponsored by Foresters Friendly Society, has joined forces with Butlins to inspire a generation to try archery.  The Shooting for Gold Award is now available at Butlins’ holiday resorts in Minehead, Bognor Regis and Skegness and aims to attract new interest in the Olympic and Paralympic sport.

All shooting is done under the watchful eye of an Archery GB approved coach, and participants will be able to aim to achieve blue, red or gold badges. All those taking part will receive a certificate to commemorate their experience and to demonstrate what they have learnt.

Launched in Butlins Bognor Regis resort on the 20 February, the event was supported by Olympic Coach Lloyd Brown as well as rising stars Becky Martin and Bryony Pitman.

Sally Waterfield, Marketing Manager at Foresters Friendly Society said: “The Olympic legacy is to inspire a generation and provide a pathway into archery. Archery is a fun and accessible sport which can be played at any age and we want to encourage people who have never tried archery to give it a go and discover their potential.  The values of accessibility and openness are central to Foresters which is why we are proud to be backing Archery GB and the Shooting for Gold Award.”
