We’ve been helping
members since 1834

Foresters is like one big family! We were established back in 1834 to improve people’s lives and that’s exactly what we do. There are two ways to become a Foresters member, either by taking out one of our financial plans or by paying a £25 a year subscription. Here’s some of the reasons why you should join our Friendly Society…

Free membership with all our products

Take out any of our financial products and you’ll automatically become a member with access to Foresters Extras, our member benefits package.

Reasons to be a member

Financial Aid

In 2023, we gave back over £1.72million to our members in discretionary grants and charitable donations. We offer a range of worthwhile member benefits, at no additional cost! From providing financial support to members in times of need, to providing support through Foresters Care…

Social Events

Thanks to regular social and community events, our members keep a busy diary. Coffee mornings, theatre trips, dinner dances, fundraising events… You can get involved with them all through our social branches.

Foresters Care

Working alongside the vastly experienced RedArc, Foresters Care has supported thousands of people through serious and long-term physical and mental illnesses, trauma, eldercare and bereavement, across all life stages.

Support Charities

Each year the Society’s President nominates a charity of their choice for the Annual Charity Appeal, and this provides a national focus for our fundraising efforts and complements the many local charities that our branches support. For 2024/2025, we’re supporting The Rivers Trust!

Life Skills

Our social branches are how our members engage with each other locally. They help to ensure that members have the opportunity to become active in the Society and are a source of support and friendship. There’s plenty of roles to get involved in if you’re interested in helping out.

Free Member Magazine

Members have free access to our quarterly member magazine called ‘Miscellany’. Each edition showcases what members have been up to across the UK, including social events, fundraising activities, and more.

Local Social Branches

We’re all about friendship and thanks to regular social and community events, our members keep a busy diary. Coffee mornings, theatre trips, dinner dances, fundraising events… You can get involved with them all through our local social branches.

Support for Communities

We’re proud sponsors of Foresters Brass, a band which can trace its roots back to 1902! Foresters Brass, based in Leicester, have brought joy to many across the UK and overseas. Achieving notable success over the years, they have performed at many prestigious venues, including the Royal Albert Hall!

Have Your Say

Everything we do is for the benefit of our members. What’s more, our members also get a say in how we are run by attending our Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Member Stories

Don’t just take our word for it. Why not listen to our members tell their own stories – and hear what Foresters Friendly Society has done for them?

All this for just £25 a year!
